Within the Default Properties Pages for AlarmCAD for AutoCAD devices such as the Fire Alarm Control Panel, Auxiliary Panel, and Power Supply, users can adjust battery parameters to preview battery calculations for connected devices.
AlarmCAD for AutoCAD's Battery Calculator Page, illustrated below, displays the device's Source, Standby Hours, and Alarm Minutes. This page was accessed via the Panel's main Properties Page, Battery Calculations button.
The up and down arrows adjust
the device's Standby Hours and
Alarm Minutes.
The panel's Standby and Alarm Compensation Factors are adjustable as well, again using the arrow buttons.
Devices connected to the Panel are listed in the middle list control table. Each column header is sortable, so users can view ascending or descending orders according to Part Number, Quantity, Description, etc.
Standby, Alarm, Total Standby, and Total Alarm current values, if applicable, are shown for each device.
Battery Compensation
Factors are adjusted in the upper right side of the main Battery Calculator dialog (see left
image) using the up/down arrow buttons. In the example on the left, Standby
and Alarm Compensation Factors have been adjusted to the factor of 1.25.
As a result of the adjustments, the Panel's Required Standby and Alarm Amp-Hours have changed. Additionally, Maximum Battery Sizes have also changed (with and without Compensation figured into the calculations shown below.)
To supplement a Panel's battery
load capacity, click on the Additional
Battery Loads button from the Panel's
Default Properties Page. In
the Additional Battery Loads dialog
shown at left, the source panel chosen was '02.' Ensure
the correct source panel is shown in the first field before making adjustments.
The Battery Set numbers are shown in the middle list control table. In the example, only one battery set is shown. Depending on the source, multiple sets can display in the table.
Adjust the Additional Standby and/or Additional Alarm Loads capacity by inserting a value directly into the fields, or by using the up/down arrow buttons. Once all modifications are finished, click OK to save the changes and exit out of the dialog.
