AutoSPRINK Training Site - X-References
In all Levels of the program, supply piping (such as underground, pump rooms, standpipes, etc.) can be included within the overhead piping drawing. Underground piping (or other piping) can be fully drawn or simulated for hydraulic calculation purposes with hydraulic overrides, using the pipe ‘Properties’:

Using X-Refs:

Start by creating a new drawing to draw for use as a X-Ref:

If your X-ref requires a supply add it in this drawing.

Go to Isometric View and Zoom in to where the point the X-ref will be inserted into the next drawing

Hydraulic Node Tags need to be added to this drawing before it is used as an X-Ref.

It is best to allow the program to place whatever Node Tags are needed. (More can be manually placed, if desired.)

You may have a supply in the drawing but there is currently no demand. To create a hydraulic demand:

HYDRAULICS \FLOATING NODE
Snap to the Flange and Left-Click. The ‘Properties’ box will open but the defaults are ok. Simply click "OK" . Right-Click to quit. Click ‘Update Node Tags’ and choose: "Calculate with manually flowing devices"

Clear your selection and delete the ‘Floating Node’. The ‘Benchmark’ will be used as the insertion point for this drawing. Because the ‘Floating Node’ was just inserted, the ‘Benchmark’ is already at the Flange. (If something else was done to move the ‘Benchmark’, it would have to be relocated to the proper position.)

Save the drawing.

Open the drawing that you would like to place the X-Ref. Go to:

TOOLS \X-REF
Click the browse button "..." , select your “X-Ref” drawing and:

Move the cursor to the point of insertion and Left-Click. Right-Click to quit.
