The Accessory Device tool (default symbol of device located above) will accommodate other devices such as Annunciator Panels, Terminal Boxes, Printers, Switches, etc. that are not categorized elsewhere in the Parts Database. An Accessory Device will connect electrically to alarm systems in an AlarmCAD for AutoCAD drawing. Required and supplied circuits for the device are optional.

To place the device into the drawing, click on the Accessory Device icon located within the Tools Toolbar, or access the Tools menu/Accessory Device submenu. The default device is the RM-LED1-Generic (Remote LED Indicator). However, specific manufacturers may have other Accessory Devices types and categories available in the Parts Book, located within the Parts Tree.
Depending on the manufacturer, several Part Numbers may be available in the Select by Part Number drop-down menu. Accessory Devices can be further defined within the Select by Categories dialog box. The device's Type, Category, Description, and Size may have available choices from their respective drop-down menus.
Customize the Symbol Label with a description if the other categories do not describe the device.
Click the Cut Sheet button to open an Adobe Reader .pdf document containing the manufacturer's spec sheets. Cut Sheets may not be available for some parts.
Click the Detail Drawing button to view the detail drawing available for the specific appliance.
In the Appliance Material Tab (formerly the Trim Tab), incorporate additional materials that can be picked up during Stock Listing and other reports.
The Appliance tab presents Circuits Required by the Device, Label Information, and Existing Appliance data.
Refine the on-screen appearance, location, rotation, and scale of the Accessory Device in the Symbol Tab.
The Costs Tab allows users to input device costs to be picked up during Stock Listing. Associated costs include Base Cost, Shop Labor, Field Labor, Design Labor, Inspection Labor and Programming Labor costs.
The Element Tab displays the device's Unique ID number and lists other adjoining elements.
On the General Tab, change an element's color, layer, line properties, and rendering characteristics.
