Design Standards: Guidelines Page

Appliance User Labels

Several important design standards for the drawing are defined within the Guidelines Tab. First, the Appliance User Labels default settings will Display Appliance User Labels, which are defined within each appliance's Appliance Tab, in the Label dialog box.

Keeping the Display option selected will not prompt the Enter User Text window (left image) to appear every time users place appliances in the drawing.

Pressing the Reset button will clear all previously entered text in case mistakes are made. Force Uppercase is checked true by default, as it is in the Appliance Tab, but can be turned off.

Multi-Drawing Reports

This option is turned on by default and will allow drawings that are referenced through Low Voltage System Reference Points to be included when generating report data. This option can be de-selected, if desired.

Circuit Connection-Automatic and Manual Modes

Automatic Mode

When beginning a new drawing, the Automatic Circuit connection mode is turned on by default, and will add circuit information for the current element.

The Alarm Circuit toolbar button is enabled in this mode and appears like .  This option will allow for circuit information to update for existing appliances when necessary.

Automatic connect mode, which contains a drop-down menu, has AutoBranch: NONE selected by default.  The NONE option will NOT allow existing circuits to be used for TTAP (branched) connections.

Conversely, selecting AutoBranch: TTAP will allow TTAP (branched) connections on the same circuit.

AutoBranch:  Series allows circuits to branch, and will automatically add two circuits on the same wire path to accommodate the series as needed.

Manual Mode

Manual Circuit Connection Mode is also available, and will not automatically add circuit information for the current element. As a result, circuit information will NOT be updated for existing appliances.

Disabling the Alarm Circuit Toolbar's Automatic circuit connection button, which will appear like when disabled, changes the circuit connection mode to Manual.

Automatic Appliance Resequence

Automatic Appliance Resequence is turned off by default, and existing devices will not resequence on addressable circuits. As a result, all new devices added to the drawing will acquire the next available appliance address.

To maintain sequential ordering, select the On option, and existing devices on addressable circuits will be resequenced as new devices are added.

Warning Messages

To only display new warning messages when placing appliances, check the Display New button.

Prior warnings will NOT display on the screen.

By default, the Display All button is selected, and will re-display all prior warnings still in effect.

Appliance Address Count Mode

Sequential addressing of appliances is turned on by default. The Skip option will skip appliance addresses as necessary.
